Singing Rock Oval Oxy Carabiner
Oval carabiner made from lightweight anodised aluminium alloy. Specially designed for use with pulleys, ascenders and descenders. Very light, rigid and super strong. The oval shape of this carabiner makes it easy to rotate when clipped to devices, anchors or lanyards. In addition, its oval shape allows the pulleys connected to the carabiner to distribute the load symmetrically. It has a unique production number, so that greater traceability can be obtained and it is easier to control inspections.
This carabiner is available with screw lock, TwistLock or triple lock. Which one to choose? It depends on your intended use and your taste.
Screwlock carabiners are the simplest and, in principle, the safest. In addition, they withstand extreme temperatures better and do not freeze or get stuck in dirt, ideal if you are going to do alpine ascents or climbing in extreme weather conditions. On the other hand, if you use threaded carabiners you must make sure that you close them properly in each manoeuvre.
If your activity requires speed and agility, it may be better to opt for an automatic carabiner with TwistLock, which opens and closes automatically with just a quarter turn. The disadvantage of this type of carabiner is that rubbing against the rope or any other material can accidentally open it, so you need to think carefully about what you are going to use it for.
If you are looking for a carabiner with an automatic locking system but which provides greater security, the Triple Lock is a very good solution. Its locking system is automatic, but it requires three movements to open (twist, lower and push), so the rope rubbing can't open it by mistake. Also available with grab bar.
