Singing Rock Vision Curved Carabiner
The carabiner with curved wire gate is, like the straight version, the lightest carabiner with wire gate suitable for the most demanding climbs. It is a small type B carabiner (D-shaped). Type B carabiners have a very versatile design. The more asymmetrical or closed the shape, the more resistance the carabiner has when the gate is open and the better it marks the direction of work. At the gate, a hook locks the gate to prevent it from opening accidentally.
Carabiners with a curved gate make clipping easier, which is why they are placed on the underside of the quickdraw (when used with the quickdraw). However, it should be noted that a too pronounced curvature of the gate makes it easier for the rope to come loose accidentally. This risk is reduced by straight triggers. For this reason, carabiners with straight triggers are placed on top of quickdraws.
The wire gate of this climbing carabiner, in addition to lightening the weight, reduces the self-opening caused by the vibrations or radial oscillations generated by the rope when arresting a fall or striking the rock. In addition, the wire gate is less prone to jamming or freezing, is easier to clean, and adds durability to the carabiner for use as a belay carabiner (as it eliminates the internal spring).
