Singing Rock Hector Carabiner
Large HMS type carabiner with double homologation: EN 362 (Personal protective equipment against falls from height. Connectors.) and EN 12275 (Mountaineering and climbing equipment. Carabiners. Safety requirements and test methods). Ideal for dynamic knot belaying.
Made of light aluminium alloy and hot forged. This, together with its I-beam construction, makes it a very light, rigid and super strong carabiner. In addition, its anodised finish provides increased abrasion resistance. The pear shape of this HMS carabiner provides plenty of surface area at the top and makes it an ideal carabiner for dynamic knot belaying or other belay devices. The Keylock system prevents unintentional snagging of the rope. It has a unique production number, making it more traceable and easier to control inspections.
You can choose between the screw lock or triple lock version of the Hector carabiner.
Which one to choose? It depends on your intended use. Screwlock carabiners are the simplest and, in principle, the safest. In addition, they withstand extreme temperatures better and do not freeze or get stuck in dirt, ideal if you are going to do alpine ascents or climbing in extreme weather conditions. On the other hand, if you use screwgate carabiners you need to make sure you lock it securely on every manoeuvre.
If you are looking for a carabiner with an automatic locking system but which still provides security, the Triple Lock system is a very good solution. Its locking system is automatic but requires three movements to open (rotate, lower and push), so the rope rubbing is very difficult to open it by mistake.
