Singing Rock Oval Steel Carabiner
This symmetrically shaped steel carabiner is designed, above all, for vertical work, although it can also be used for sport climbing, especially in caving and adventure parks. Like all Singing Rock carabiners, this steel connector has a Keylock system, which prevents accidental hooking of the rope on the nose of the carabiner. Being made of zinc-plated steel, this oval carabiner has a greater resistance than a similar one made of aluminum. The downside of steel carabiners is weight, they are almost three times heavier than aluminum ones, but there are situations where hardness and strength are more important than weight.
This Singing Rock oval steel carabiner is available with screw closure and triple closure. Which to choose? It depends on the use that is going to be given and the tastes of each one. Screw carabiners are the simplest and, in principle, the safest. In addition, they withstand extreme temperatures better and do not freeze or get stuck with dirt. This type of carabiner with screw closure also allows us to carry out maneuvers with one hand. On the contrary, if you use screw carabiners you must make sure to close it well in each maneuver, and also the operation requires more time than with an automatic one. If you are looking for a carabiner with automatic closure that allows more agile maneuvers but that gives you security, the Triple Lock connector is a very good solution. Its closing system is automatic, but it requires three movements to open (turn, lower and push), so the friction of the rope will not be able to open it by mistake.
