Spyderco Polestar CTS-BD1 Pocket knife
Polestar Spyderco penknife with blade made of CTS-BD1 steel and has a Trademark Round Hole ™ hole completely accessible for a quick, ambidextrous and one-handed opening.
Its edge extends along the entire blade and does not include a tab for the index finger. This maximizes the usable length of the edge and allows for powerful cuts with the heel of the blade.
Stainless steel with high percentages of carbon and chromium, which provide excellent properties of resistance to rust, hardness and wear resistance.
It maintains the edge better than the VG-10 and is easier to sharpen.
Specifically, the CTS BD-1 contains 0.90% carbon, 0.60% manganese, 0.37% silicon, 15.75% chromium, 0.30% molybdenum, and 0.10% vanadium.
This locking mechanism is the best known and used l. When opening the blade of the knife, a metal plate makes butt against the spike, making pressure and thus preventing the blade from moving.
In this way to close the blade you have to move the plate to release the pressure and then close the blade.
A blade form developed and refined by Spyderco. It is similar to a spear point, but not completely symmetrical, and has a sharper point and, generally, has no wedge.
The knife as well as the tools are in a handle with nested stainless steel linings, textured black G-10 scales, an epoxy-filled woven glass fiber that is rigid, impervious to temperature changes and chemicals and can be dyed in different colors, solid stainless steel springs and a two-position hourglass shaped clip that offers the option to take it up or down.
