Singing Rock Hector BC Carabiner
Large HMS type carabiner with double certification: EN 362 (Personal protective equipment against falls from height. Connectors.) and EN 12275 (Mountaineering and climbing equipment. Carabiners. Safety requirements and test methods). Includes internal clamping bar that holds the carabiner in the correct position so that it works with the main axis and avoids cross-loading. The bar is detachable, it can be removed with a number 3 Allen key. Designed specifically for use as a fixed connector on anchor systems or lanyards.
The Singing Rock Hector BC carabiner is made from lightweight aluminium alloy and hot forged. This, together with its I-beam construction, makes for a very light, rigid and super strong carabiner. In addition, its anodised finish provides increased abrasion resistance. The pear shape of this HMS carabiner provides plenty of surface area at the top and makes it an ideal carabiner for dynamic knot belaying or other belay devices, it has a unique production number, making it more traceable and easier to check for inspections.
You can choose between the screwlock or triple locking version of the Hector BC carabiner. Which one to choose? It depends on your intended use. Screwlock carabiners are the simplest and, in principle, the safest. In addition, they withstand extreme temperatures better and do not freeze or get stuck in dirt, ideal if you are going to do alpine ascents or climbing in extreme weather conditions. On the other hand, if you use screwgate carabiners you need to make sure you lock it securely on every manoeuvre.
If you are looking for a carabiner with an automatic locking system but which provides security, the Triple Lock is a very good solution. Its locking system is automatic but requires three movements to open (twist, lower and push), so the rubbing of the rope won't be able to open it by mistake.
